On April 11, 2010, the Second Annual Streamy Awards took place at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Also on April, 11 2010, at the very same Orpheum Theatre during the Streamy Awards Ceremony, a web series was shot. Sponsored by Trident Layers and brought to you by the good people at CJP Digital and Horizon Media, The Webventures of Justin and Alden is a self-aware, comedic romp through the land of Trying to Make it in Hollywood and the world of web entertainment.

Scene one shows our bruised and bloodied, wannabe famous protagonists in a detainment room awaiting imminent punishment. Their crime? We’re not quite sure yet, but it has something to do with doing something bad at the 2010 Streamy Awards (and no, they weren’t the streakers). To find out exactly what landed Justin and Alden in their current predicament, we’re taken back five hours earlier to the morning of that fateful April 11.

After folding laundry and finishing everything else on their to-do list, the twentysomething roommates get working on what all Southern Californians have at the bottom of their to-do lists – “Get Famous”. And how will they do it? By making the “greatest web series web show that’s ever been on the web computer.” Actually, it’s not a bad idea.

Cue awkward showbiz hijinks, a ton of references to popular web series, packs upon packs of delicious Trident Layers gum (which sponsored the series as well as the Streamy Awards), and you’ve got yourself a web show worth a watch. But throw in writing by the Legend of Neil’s Streamy nominated Tony Janning and Sandeep Parikh, directing by The Guild’s Streamy winner Sean Becker, acting by Justin Tyler and Alden Ford, and all of the following cameo appearances, and you’ve got one heck of a great web series you don’t want to miss.
