The Road to a Streamy Nomination

Is my series eligible for a 2010 Streamy Award?
For full eligibility requirements, carefully review the Guidelines and Eligibility Requirements. Web series qualify for consideration if a minimum of three (3) episodes were released during the 2009 calendar year (Jan 1 – Dec 31, 2009).

Do I have to be based in the United States to participate?
Entries are submitted from countries around the world. The Streamy Awards is a global award and encourages submissions from all countries. Submissions from outside the U.S. are eligible for all categories. The Best Foreign Web Series category is specifically for content created outside of the U.S.

Does my web series entry need to be in English?
Non-English language web series are welcome, but content must be accessible to our predominantly English speaking Academy members. English subtitling or dubbing of your content is strongly recommended. To the extent that content is not dependent upon language, non-English speaking series are strongly encouraged.

Can I nominate a series for more than one category?
Yes. The Streamy Awards categories span all fields and specialties in the digital entertainment industry. There will be overlap in some categories but creators and fans are encouraged to submit shows for as many categories as is appropriate.

Who votes for the Streamy Awards?
The Streamy Awards is a symbol of peer recognition. As such, the Streamy Awards are overseen by the International Academy of the Web Television, whose membership is divided into 22 Peer Groups of specialized fields. Peer Group members vote on nominees and winners for categories pertaining to their area of specialty. Visit the IAWTV website to learn more about the Academy.

Is there a “Popularity Contest” element to the Streamy Awards?
The Streamys are primarily a merit-based awards mixed with a small splash of popularity contest. The series or individual with the most submissions in each of the non-Craft categories will automatically become an Official 2010 Streamy Awards Nominee. Only one submission, per IP address, per category, per day will be counted (i.e. If the same person submits for the same show in the same category 300 times in one day, only one of those votes will count). With the exception of the Audience Choice Award, the remaining nominees in every category will be decided by members of the International Academy of Web Television.

Do I need to have a Twitter account to participate in the submissions or voting processes?
No. Only submissions and votes received through the the official forms and voting mechanisms located on the Streamy Awards website will be tallied. It is not required that you tweet your submission or vote. You can choose not to and the submission or vote will still be counted.

Will the Streamy Awards share the judges’ ratings and comments about my web series?
Due to the volume of submissions, the Streamy Awards does not provide individual feedback to entrants.

How many Streamy Awards categories will be honored in 2010?
In 2009, the Streamy Awards honored excellence across twenty-five categories. In 2010, the Streamy Awards have expanded to include thirty-five categories. These new categories include Best New Web Series, Best Companion Web Series, Best Animated Web Series, Best Branded Entertainment Web Series, Best Foreign Web Series, Best Experimental Web Series, Best Vlogger, Best Sound Design, Best Product Integration, Best Live Production, Best Interactive Experience, and Best Mobile Experience.

Corrections and Errors

How can I correct information on the Streamys website about a show that I own or represent?
The Streamy Awards support the spirit of openness by allowing anyone to nominate a show. Content owners wishing to submit definitive show information and credits should complete a Certified Submissions form which ensures correct listings from content owners or representatives. If you notice a credits error on Streamys.org, please email credits@streamys.org with your full contact information, names of web series, and corrections.

There was an error in my Certified Submission. How can I correct it?
If you submitted information that you later deemed to be incorrect, please submit corrections via our Certified Submission Error Correction form.

Can I withdraw my submission?
Given the open nature of our submissions process, we are unable to verify the authenticity of such requests. Submissions errors should be brought to the attention of judges by completing the Certified Submission Error Correction form.
