Paul Scheer to Host 2010 Streamy Awards

Thu, 01 Apr 2010 20:13:11 +0000

The web was first introduced to Paul Scheer back in 2005. Before Human Giant was Human Giant, when Rob Huebel was “inconsiderate cellphone man,” Aziz Ansari hadn’t scored a role on The Office spinoff, and Scheer hadn’t yet been on 30 Rock or Best Week Ever, the three played cutthroat agents to infant Hollywood stars in the Channel 101 classic Shutterbugs. We’ve been entertained ever since.

In addition to those pop culture quips on BWE and duelings with Kenneth Parcell as the head of NBC’s page program, Scheer’s gone onto star in FX’s hit comedy The League, will appear in the broadcast TV version of Adult Swim’s Children’s Hospital (which was first a web series on TheWB), and can be seen in far too many Funny or Die videos to name here.

Scheer’s had success in traditional television, web TV, and on Twitter (where he recently helped to create the celebrity benefit for Haiti, A Night of 140 Tweets), but – regardless of the medium or role – he never ceases to make us smile.

That’s why we’re very so very excited and honored to announce that Paul Scheer will be hosting the 2010 Streamy Awards! Be sure to set your web browsers to Streamys.org on Sunday, April 11 at 5:30PM PT / 8:30PM ET to watch the live online broadcast from the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.
