We opened submissions for the 2010 Streamy Awards eight days ago on December 15. Since then, studio representatives, content distributers, web series creators and people like you have been submitting shows and individuals for consideration. And because the most submitted series and individual in each of the major categories becomes an automatic finalist, we’ve witnessed a number of innovative ways that web TV shows and talent have promoted themselves.

We’ve seen music and ‘for your consideration‘ videos, Facebook eventsbadge and banner displays, and action on Twitter. A whole heck of a lot of action on Twitter.

According to real-time social media search engine, Topsy, the Streamy Awards are one of the top 100 most tweeted sites on all of Twitter. By Topsy’s calculations, in the past eight days, the Streamy Awards have been tweeted about 5,550 times and counting. If we break that down, it comes out to almost 700 tweets per day, 30 tweets per hour, and one tweet every two minutes.

That’s a lot of chatter.

A blog entry that gently asks for consideration while at the same time explains how to vote and what the rules are.

Almost every night my fictitious leading lady Suzie, played in our webisode Pink Slip, by actress Kaitlin Snyder and our leading male character, Max, played by actor Michael Adam Hamilton ask questions of the day and engage in pillow talk which always asks everyone to submit them for Streamy awards…sometimes Joey/Lullabelle (played by Jason Ellefson) joins them while he & Max compete against each other for best actor in a comedy. In the end Max and Suzy always kiss and makeup, after fights over who should win.

Additionally, one of our actresses, Emma Zerner, who plays sad sack Joy, has given numerous youtube interviews regarding Pink slip, and has blogged about us as well.

We have also been reviewed favorably by Tabloid Baby, and just began a new “Pink Slip – A Comedy Webisode – by Muriel Campbell” Facebook page. .

Additionally, Pink Slip’s Suzie & Max twitter about the Streamys nightly & our twitter page links to our website at http://pinkslip.tv/ where you can view all episodes of Pink Slip, read about the actors & producers & if you click Answer Suzie, you can then answer Suzie’s question of the day on twitter.
