Streamys Photographer Spotlight: The Bui Brothers
Vu and Lan Bui (aka the Bui Brothers when their powers are combined) are the kind of photographers other photographers hire when they need pictures taken of themselves, which means they’re good. Very good. They compose and shoot the kinds of wildly popular photos for online awards ceremonies that major television networks later replicate when promoting their own awards ceremonies, which is also a testament to their talents.
The Bui Brothers bill themselves as “photographers and videographers specializing in online media and promotional photography.” Basically, that means these two know how to work the web. Their combination of incredible talent, social media savvy, online video skills, and genuine love for the independent content creator community make them the go-to artists when online auteurs like iJustine, Veronica Belmont, and Felicia Day want their picture taken.
So, when we needed official photographers for the 2009 Streamy Awards, the Bui Brothers were an easy, obvious choice. We attempted to cull some of our favorite shots Vu and Lan took from the Streamys’ Red Carpet, Awards Ceremony, and Winners Circle, but quickly realized that was an exercise in futility. There are simply too many amazing pictures.
With that in mind, below you can check out a slideshow of all the photos from the Streamy Awards (which includes shots from Vu, Lan, and our other Streamy Awards photographers). And if you ever need a pair of photogs that will make the camera love you, get in touch with the Bui Brothers.

The Bui Brothers are great at what they do and its sweet to see them validated here! Every time I’ve worked with them they are above excellent and set the bar for everyone else.
Love me some bui brothers :-)
The Bui Brothers are easily two of the greatest portrait photographers I’ve ever worked with. I’m looking forward to having them do set photography on the next film I’m directing. If you need photos, they are definitely guys worth knowing!

I’ve had the privilege of working and hanging out with Vu, and man, he is a great guy. And both he and Lan are really talented, humble, and giving. Great guys.
