Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and The Guild Sweep First Annual Streamy Awards Honoring Excellence in Web Television Programming

Acting Award Winners Include Felicia Day (The Guild), Rosario Dawson (Gemini Division), Alessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica: The Face of the Enemy), and Neil Patrick Harris (Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog)

Los Angeles, CA – April 1, 2009 — The First Annual Streamy Awards, honoring excellence in Web television programming, is pleased to announce the winners of the first annual Streamy Awards ceremony, which took place on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Wadsworth Theatre in Los Angeles. Over 1,000 creatives and digital entertainment industry executives celebrated the best in original episodic programs created originally for online distribution. Nominees were recognized across 25 award categories, including actors, directors, writers, cinematographers, editors, music and special effects. Both the Official Red Carpet Pre-Show hosted by Shira Lazar and the Awards Ceremony were streamed live on www.streamys.org to Web television fans around the world. The Awards were created by Drew Baldwin, Brady Brim-DeForest, and Marc Hustvedt of Tubefilter, and Joshua Cohen and Jamison Tilsner of Tilzy.TV.
